Port Louis Marina was delighted to welcome sailors, yacht owners and the wider marine community to Pure Grenada Sailing Week 2026.

A Meaningful Return to Carriacou

The 2026 edition marked a particularly special milestone with the event beginning in Carriacou, which is now fully open for business following Hurricane Beryl. The return highlighted the island’s resilience and its enduring role in Grenada’s maritime and sailing heritage.

Racing week launched with the much-anticipated “Rum to Spice” feeder race from Barbados Sailing Week, delivering fleets directly to Carriacou ahead of final registration, the official skippers’ briefing and the welcome party.

A Week of Exceptional Racing

Race Day One opened with the Island Water World Around Carriacou Race, starting and finishing in Tyrell Bay, followed by post-race celebrations at The Original Slipway Restaurant.

Race Day Two, sponsored by Clarke’s Court Boatyard & Marina, featured an exhilarating offshore race from Carriacou to Grenada, finishing off Fort Jeudy Point, with prizegiving and celebrations at Le Phare Bleu Marina.

Race Day Three—sponsored by Mount Gay Rum, distributed by Bryden & Minors of Grenada—bought competitive round-the-cans racing along Grenada’s south coast.

Port Louis Marina was proud to host the Race Day Three prizegiving and evening celebrations at the Victory Bar & Restaurant, welcoming crews ashore at Grenada’s premier international marina.

Final Race Day, sponsored by Sea Hawk Paints, delivered the regatta’s ultimate challenge, before festivities returned to Port Louis Marina for the final prizegiving and party at Chez Louis, the new waterfront restaurant and duty-free shopping destination located next to the marina.

An Established Caribbean Classic

Pure Grenada Sailing Week is officially endorsed by the Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA), meeting international racing standards and forming a fixed and respected part of the Caribbean racing calendar. As the most southerly regatta on the circuit, it offers competitors outstanding sailing conditions, a relaxed atmosphere and the warm welcome Grenada is known for.

The continued support of the Grenada Tourism Authority reflects the growing importance of the marine and yachting sector to the destination and Grenada’s long-term commitment to sailing tourism.

With its return to Carriacou, strong industry backing and a world-class racing and social programme, Pure Grenada Sailing Week 2026 promises unforgettable racing and true Caribbean hospitality.

A huge note of thanks to the wider sponsor and partner community, including Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina, Sol Petroleum, Island Water World, Clarke’s Court Boatyard & Marina, Mount Gay Rum, Sea Hawk Paints, Spice Island Marine Services, North Sails, Victory Bar & Restaurant, Le Phare Bleu Marina, Chez Louis and many more, for their continued support of sailing in Grenada.
